Pre- Holiday Season 2024: Enjoying Saturday

Saturday,  December 14,  2024

Cigar and coffee in the yard this morning.

Not too raw out. Lunch with Noel at Heather's. We didn't hang out afterward as sleet and freezing rain started falling and Noel thought it best to get home.

Played with AI on my phone and got the above images.

Moon was officially full by the time  I  lit up my afternoon cigar.

Romeo y Julieta this morning.  A Camacho this afternoon.

Listened to my own holiday mix while outside.

Cocktail hour with Dale once back inside. Drank a pre-made Old Fashioned from Cork Dork.

And listened to some more music.

Full Wolf Moon

Thursday, January 25, 2024

The moon will reach full illumination during the day today but it will be below the horizon so it won't be visible until evening.

According to the Washington Post, "January’s full moon is commonly referred to as the wolf moon, probably derived from the idea that wolves tend to howl more in the winter. Howling is four times more common in February than in May, according to the National Park Service. Wolves aren’t howling at the moon but are communicating with comrades. They typically breed from January to March in the northern United States, but are quieter in the spring so they don’t attract predators while they raise their pups." Christmas Day 2015 - Christmas Full Moon

Friday, December 25, 2015

Didn't see the moon tonight as it was overcast so I'm glad we had a chance to see it last night. Visible or not, I was aware of its presence. We'll have to wait 19 years for it to occur on Christmas Day again...

Christmas Eve 2015 - Christmas Full Moon

Thursday, December 24, 2015

Dale and I noticed the Christmas (not quite yet) full moon before getting to church tonight. It was spectacular.
