Countdown to Christmas - 6 Days

Listened to Patti LaBelle while I got some more lights and ornaments on the tree.

Started from the bottom and am working my way up. Still more to do. 

Took some nice walks today. Still decompressing and walking always helps. 

The sun was out before noon. A bit gloomier this afternoon. Dale got in a nice bike ride. 

Holiday Season 2015 - Lights Are On

Started winter break a couple days ago and I must say I'm relaxing quite well. Dale is off to Colorado for a few days to visit John who is being pumped full of antibiotics to help fight off a nasty infection. I'm lying on the couch looking at the red and white lights and wishing Dale were back.

So far this has been a particularly tough school year and I'm fighting off some lethargy that I feel is due to being so overwhelmed at work. Despite that I'm wishing I had a bit more energy to deck the house for Christmas which was something I was really looking forward to. Listening to Miss Patti is helping to cheer me up.

Holiday Season 2013 - Christmas Cocktails

Really need a mid-week martini. Listening to Patti LaBelle's album This Christmas from 1990. It's sounding somewhat dated in a fun late 80s/early 90s kind of way. I didn't buy the rerelease (from 2004) until a couple of years ago but just the sound of it is bringing back lots of memories of the time. I've seen this woman in concert a few times and the sound from her soul can go straight to your own. What a beautiful human being she is. This is all lots of fun and I'm realizing the house is starting to look quite Christmas-y.
