Countdown to Christmas - 9 Days

Wonderfully slow first day of vacation. Dale and I went out to Bachman's to get some new lights for the tree. Picked up a strand of 300 white lights which should do it for our tree. Tree's already up and I'll get the lights on tomorrow.

Listened to more Xmas music including many of my own playlists. 

Xmas party tonight at former colleague Sandi's house over by Lake Nokomis. I ran into lots of former colleagues and it was fun to catch up. 

One of the highlights of her party every year is singing the 12 Days of Christmas. She coordinates who will sing which parts. Ashley, Goldi, and I were the four calling birds.

Sandi at work hosts a Christmas party every year - usually the first Saturday of Christmas vacation. I ran into old colleague and friend Nancy. 

Holiday Season 2014 - Sandi's Holiday Party

Last night Sandi, a colleague, held her annual Christmas party.  It's always a fun time and she invites quite a number of people from school.  Every year she serves spaghetti, after having worked on the sauce for a few days in advance, and has guests bring either an appetizer, salad, or dessert.  I brought a veggie tray.  I ran into Ann, a retired Kindergarten teacher who was also my bus duty buddy for a number of years.  I had a chance to speak to other colleagues as well and we all commented on how nice it is to chat as we're always caught up with the busy-ness of work when at work. 

Sandi's party features a carol sing-along. This year her son accompanied on trombone and one of his old high school friends played tuba.
