Pre-Holiday Season 2024: Cigars and Music

Looking forward to getting some rest during the upcoming holidays. 

                      

That said, I'm also taking time to relax in the present. 

                     

Lit up a cigar and poured the last of my vodka left over from Thanksgiving.

After coming in I listened to music. 

And more music.

Watched Frosty the Snowman on broadcast television tonight.

The 5th Day of Christmas

I picked this copy of Frosty the Snowman at A Rare Bird Antiques a few weeks ago and read it today. 

                

I had this book as a kid so it was fun to revisit it. 

I enjoyed the 1950s era illustrations then and I enjoy them now!

Holiday Season 2017 - Last Day of School

Last day of school for 2017. The kids did pretty well although by the end of the day they had a glazed looked in their eyes with a slightly evil smile and were staring at me like I was a giant wrapped package ready to be ripped apart. I held them off by having them watch Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

Haven't seen Frosty for a few years so it was fun to watch. It seemed like many of the kids hadn't seen it before either so it held their attention.

Holiday Season 2014 - Cream Liquour and Rudolph

Dale and I caught Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman tonight during dinner. After dinner I sipped on some Fulton's Harvest Pumpkin Pie Cream Liqueur. Dig my fancy new cup?

According to the website Crown Wine and Spirits, Fulton's Harvest Pumpkin Pie Cream Liqueur "is the first-ever pumpkin pie cream liqueur and is immediately reminiscent of homemade pumpkin pie complete with the flavors [of] rich vanilla, brown sugar and spices. It is best served chilled or on ice, as well as in coffee and a variety of cream based cocktails."

Frosty the Snowman & Frosty Returns

The animated 1969 special Frosty the Snowman, which I haven't seen in years, was on network t.v. tonight. As a kid I remember looking forward to this being on and I loved the sappy but cute story. Frosty Returns was on tonight as well. It dates from 1992 but this is the first I've ever seen it. I was quite unimpressed.
