Thursday, January 13, 2022

Although I set out a lot of tchotchkes this year I didn't get to the nutcrackers.

Or the reindeer.

First Cigar of The New Year

Wednesday, January 12, 2022

School's been more challenging this week than it usually is. On Monday we went back to asynchronous distance learning because of the cold. Yesterday. and today were in-person as will be tomorrow. Just found out this afternoon that, starting tomorrow we'll be going to synchronous online learning due to spiking Omicron variant Covid cases. We'll be doing that for the next two weeks. I'm becoming much more accepting that seemingly constant and often unexpected change is simply the new normal. However my ability to cope with it is not keeping up. Thankfully I had a chance to relax and light up my first cigar of 2022 shortly before I got the news. Utilized my upstairs cigar lounge.

Odds & Ends: Music

Tuesday, Janury 11, 2022

I've got so much Christmas music. I listened to quite a bit of it this year but certainly not all of it.

Epiphany 2022

Thursday, January 6, 2021

Sylvester likes looking out the window. Even in the dark, I guess.

The kings finally made it. However, by the end of the day I had everything packed up including the tree.

Sad that January 6th is now associated with another event. It's been one year since the insurrection. The event was horrifying enough in and of itself and even more so because people who identify as Christian brandished flags, banners, and the like with Christian images alongside white supremacist and nazi imagery.

Let there be peace on earth.

Christmastide 2021/2022 - 12th Day of Christmas: Twelfth Night

Wednesday, December 5, 2021

Took the decorations off the tree. Will take the tree down tomorrow.

Asked Mom to send me a picture of her tree since I haven't seen it yet.

She also sent me a picture of a cat ornament she made. She says she likes that one the best.

Mom has placed a St. Nicolas figure outside the door of her apartment.

Simple dinner of left-over tater tot hot dish.

Christmastide 2021/2022 - 11th Day of Christmas: Christmas Stories

Tuesday, January 4, 2022

A book I ordered before Christmas, A Very Irish Christmas, finally arrived today. Can't wait to jump into it. I like reading Christmas themed short stories in January. It's a way for me to help keep the Christmas spirit going until Candlemas on February 2.
